I truly believe that artists should always worry less about what their music will be "called" and more about what it really "is". The difficulty with this idea is actually a very small problem compared to the big picture, which is true expression. The great French composer Claude Debussy described his own music as "having always existed in the Universe" and that he was nothing but a vessel through which the music passed and appeared to our senses. That makes the job of composing music seem a very humble one, doesn't it ?

Every time deeper thought is given to the subject of Art, many of us seem compelled to describe the 'already established', as the absolute "truth", instead of allowing ourselves a more sincere openness to whatever may be currently happening in the world. There is no place, country or land with the best, prettiest or the most serious artistic manifestation. There is, however, the capability of an artist or performer, to reunite as much as they can from all sources within mankind, no matter what the origin.

This is what we would gladly call Universal Culture.
