Born in Taipei, Jang began playing the piano at age three and later studied with Professor Ma, Yo Yo Ma's father. Upon moving to the United States, she enrolled at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Jang took a sabbatical to raise her two children and re-entered the musical world with her stunning Narada debut, SWEET DREAMS. 
"I enjoy melody. For me to tell a story in music, melody is very important. I also value simplicity. My living environment and the objects I surround myself with are very minimal. That's the way I like my life...and my music."
