Music has always
played an important part in my life and showed an early
interest in the guitar which lead to me starting classical
guitar lessons at the age of 9. I studied the instrument for
10 years managing to win a school music competition one year
and giving a number of public performances. I also taught
myself to play the keyboard studying works by Debussy,
Chopin and Rachmaninov. It was not long before I bought my
first synthesizer (a Korg Poly 800) and started to
experiment and work on my own material.
In the late
1980s I worked for a local production company gaining
experience with recording and engineering a wide range of
music and spoken material. The work ranged from voice overs
and soundtracks for promotional videos to demos for bands,
songwriters and solo performing artists. I also worked on
developing my own instrumental material when the studio was
not being used by others.
During the 1990s
I played keyboards and later bass guitar with a folk band
and acted as producer for their first studio album before
moving on to pastures new.
More recently I
have become more deeply interested in spirituality and
particularly eastern philosophies. In an increasingly
stressful world, this has lead me to discover and try to
explore the power music has to calm, relax, heal and
compliment alternative therapies. |
