New Age music is music of transformation – from acoustic, electronic, jazz, world or sacred music, it is a genre that crosses many different stylistic boundaries. It is a musical voice that can unleash the imagination, quiet the mind, and create a deep sense of well being.

For the last 20 years, Narada has been a leader in presenting the finest New Age music. BEST OF NARADA – NEW AGE celebrates the extraordinary diversity of the genre, bringing together landmark recordings from our exceptional artists Keiko Matsui, David Lanz, David Arkenstone, Jesse Cook, Tingstad & Rumbel, Riley Lee, and many more.

Some of the artists featured on BEST OF NARADA NEW AGE

Keiko Matsui

As an award-winning, top-selling instrumentalist, Keiko Matsui’s extraordinary talents on the piano appeal to a global audience, gaining recognition and praise as one of the most prolific composers and spiritual performers. Her music is deep and passionate, portraying visions of emotional imagery by combining Asian and Western classical music with contemporary jazz. She performs and composes music from deep within her soul, inspired by the environment, her family, and things of a more spiritual nature. In her own words, “Music is like prayer and that's why I am here.”

Tingstad & Rumbel

In a country settled and shaped by diverse cultures from around the world, guitarist Eric Tingstad and woodwindist Nancy Rumbel have created and remained at the core of a distinctive and essential style. Eric and Nancy describe it as American Acoustic. “We have performed, recorded, and traveled throughout the United States for over 15 years now. Our music is a direct reflection of the countless people, places and emotions that we feel from living and working as musicians in this country.”

Riley Lee

One of the foremost shakuhachi flute performers, Riley Lee was the first non-Japanese dai shihan (grand master) of the shakuhachi tradition. His fluid sound and warm tone are the results of years of study in Japan. Lee has the unique ability to bridge differences of culture, infusing the quiet dignity of Japanese music with the freedom of contemporary instrumental music.
